In this lesson we will:
- Introduce the concept of "User Facing Analytics";
- Explain how it differs to more generic business analytics;
- Discuss some of the relevant tools and platforms that enable it.
Much of the work that we do in the Data Engineering world involves building solutions for internal business users who need analytics to support their decision making.
There are however a growing number of situations where we would like to provide data directly to our users as part of a digital product experience. Examples include self service advertising platforms, social networks, and online gaming, or any product where we would like to expose real-time data directly to end users as a part of the user experience.
